How to sell crypto on OpenPeer

If you are trading on mobile, we recommend accessing OpenPeer through the browser in your wallet such as Metamask, Trust Wallet or Coinbase Wallet.

1. Choose a Buyer

Selling crypto on OpenPeer works the same as selling on other P2P platforms.

On the application, input the amount of crypto you are looking to sell and click the See Sell Options button.

On doing so, you will be taken to a page showing all the Ads that match your criteria. Choose one of the Ads to proceed.

2. Connect to OpenPeer

After you choose a buyer to sell to, connect your wallet of choice to the OpenPeer platform (in this tutorial we have used MetaMask) and verify ownership of your account by signing a message.

Note: Signing the message proves valid ownership of the account and is completely free of cost. It does not grant OpenPeer the ability to transfer any of the crypto in your wallet.

3. Confirm and Escrow Your Sell Order

Confirm the amount you want to sell. Review the details and terms of the buyer, and click the Proceed button then Sign and Continue . Next click the Approve USDT button to approve the cap of tokens you wish to trade, and sign the message in your wallet.

After you approve OpenPeer to transfer USDT, click on the Escrow funds button to initiate the trade. On doing so, the amount of crypto you are selling will be transferred to your unique escrow smart contract until you receive the fiat payment.

4. Wait for the Buyer to Transfer Fiat Money & Release Funds

After you escrow the crypto, we notify the buyer by email to transfer the fiat payment. Once they mark the order as paid, you will get a notification to verify receipt of fiat in your bank account.

To finish the transaction, click on the Release funds button. Here, you be prompted to verify you have received the fiat payment. If you have received the payment, click on the Yes I have received funds button, and release the funds from the escrow to the buyer.

If you have not received the funds and the buyer has marked the payment as complete, message the buyer by clicking the Chat with buyer button to ask what has caused the delay in payment. If the payment does not arrive, you may open a dispute by clicking on the Open a dispute button.

5. Sell Order Complete!

Congratulations, you have successfully sold crypto on OpenPeer. 🥳
