# Setup Telegram and Email Notifications

If you're posting ads on OpenPeer, you should aim to respond to any orders within 5 minutes to ensure a good trading experience for you and your counterparty. The best way to do that is to ensure you're getting promptly notified whenever an order is placed. OpenPeer offers both telegram and email notifications for all order steps. You can follow the steps or videos below.

### Option 1: Setup in Edit Profile

If you're an existing OpenPeer user who has already placed some trades or ads, you'll need to edit your profile to setup telegram notifications.

Step 1: Go to Profile Page by clicking on the avatar image on the top right of your page

Step 2: Press the Edit Profile button

Step 3: Press the Activate Telegram Notifications button

Step 4: Follow the prompts in Telegram

Alternative Step: If the button doesn't work, you can expand the "Alternative Method" option and message @openpeer\_bot on telegram with the displayed message

For email notifications simply enter your email in the email field.

### Option 2: Setup while posting an ad or placing a trade

When placing your first trade or posting your first ad you'll be prompted to set your username, email and setup telegram notifications. Do the same as the steps above in **Option 1** from when you press the the **Activate Telegram Notifications** button.

If you're using OpenPeer within a wallet browser like those offered by Coinbase Wallet and Trust Wallet we recommend using the Alternative method and messaging @openpeer\_bot for the best experience
